Join us for Hollywood Classics Under the Stars this summer at Iroquois Amphitheater – special double feature! This double feature is presented by Monticello Bank.

Directed by Ishirō Honda, the 1954 Japanese film Godzilla (Gojira) is a serious, black-and-white kaiju classic serving as a dark allegory for nuclear destruction. Awakened and mutated by H-bomb testing, a massive, radioactive prehistoric beast ravages Tokyo, symbolizing postwar fears. It is an emotionally resonant drama featuring pioneering special effects.

Godzilla vs. Destoroyah (1995) is a Japanese kaiju film where a “Burning” Godzilla, suffering from a nuclear meltdown, battles Destoroyah, a demonic monster born from the 1954 Oxygen Destroyer. As Godzilla’s temperature threatens to destroy Earth, he must protect his son while facing a creature designed to kill him, culminating in a tragic finale.
